Video call forwarding Manual

September's (2024) update brought with it some permanent changes. For example, your consultation room looks different and we have
added an entirely new feature, ‘video call forwarding’. As this addition is unique, you will find additional information here so you
can easily get started with this feature.

To begin with

The new feature is available to all Webcamconsult users. Users with the role of department supervisor can also make use of this feature. If a department supervisor also interacts with patients, they will need the role of practitioner. A department supervisor can easily obtain the practitioner role by requesting it from the organization or system administrator.

Using the video call forwarding function

Forward appointment

When you are in an appointment and wish to transfer it to a colleague, you can do so to a user who is available at that moment. Your colleague must be logged in to Webcamconsult.

You can select the relevant colleague from the right-side dropdown menu. When you click on transfer, your colleague will be notified via a pop-up and an email will also be sent to them. Once you have completed these steps and the transfer is successful, you will immediately see that the action was successful.

The consultation will be automatically paused when you transfer it.

Pause video consultation

You can also pause the conversation, for example, when you receive an urgent call. You can use the pause button for this.

The patient remains active but cannot see the provider. The patient stays in the waiting room until you resume the consultation.

‘Taking on’ appointments

With the new videocall forwarding feature, several tasks can be initiated before the actual consultation begins.

For instance, with this update, the department supervisor can forward consultations and perform other secretarial tasks. If the department supervisor also has the role of a practitioner, then there are more possibilities. The department supervisor can also speak to the patient before the consultation starts and schedule appointments. Additionally, the department supervisor can review settings with the patient prior to the consultation.

The ability for the department supervisor to schedule appointments is useful when, for example, an intake needs to be conducted first. The patient can also be informed of any changes regarding the appointment via this route.

Multidisciplinary consultation

In some cases, it is good to include the opinion of another doctor, in order to come up with a better treatment plan.

You can easily perform this too with the transfer function.

To involve a second doctor, you can invite them to the consultation. This too can be done using the new menu on the right.

Your colleague will be notified to join the consultation, allowing you, your colleague and the patient to take part in a single conversation.

There is more

With the new update, more new features have come online. For example, for physical appointments, you can also indicate where the location is. If you work in several hospitals, you can select the right location for each appointment. Patients will then be sent the address and directions by e-mail. Also, the site is now available in Croatian.

Besides indicating the location of an appointment, appointments can now also be changed in form. For instance, a physical appointment can be converted to an online consultation and vice versa.

In addition, you can also use other existing functions. These include online walk-in consultations, secure chat/appening and live translation of consultations. Patients can use the Webcamconsult App free of charge.
