New platform for worldwide dermatological care without waiting times
A new international platform is raising dermatological care to the next level. Founded by two dermatologists, it offers both online and email consultations, while connecting specialists and patients across the globe. In addition, Dermatology2Go provides visitors with information on more than 200 skin conditions. Using a step-by-step wizard, users can conduct a preliminary self-assessment. All content in the tool has been authored by certified dermatologists.
Through integration with Webcamconsult’s software suite, arranging and conducting both online and email consultations becomes easy. Consultations are performed by physicians worldwide. The platform features its own electronic health record (EHR), or it can be integrated with existing EHR systems for secure case management.
Accessible dermatological care, worldwide
Dermatological care is increasingly being provided remotely. Dermatology2Go enables both online and email consultations, with a multilingual interface that includes real-time translation. This allows patients, regardless of location and language, to consult a dermatologist using their mobile phone, laptop, PC, or tablet.
Its mission is to reduce long waiting times and avoid the risks of delayed treatment. Dermatology2Go facilitates fast access to dermatologists, enhanced by the self-diagnosis tool Dermawizard. Developed using AI under the supervision of certified dermatologists, this tool supports patients in preliminary self-assessment. Nevertheless, Dermatology2Go deliberately emphasizes personal interaction when it comes to actual consultations.
Bert van Gerwen, co-founder of Dermatology2Go: “We focus on making dermatological care more accessible by offering online and email consultations by appointment, or directly through a digital walk-in clinic. Flexibility matters, but high-quality care also requires personal interaction. That’s why we combine smart technology with direct communication by our dermatologists.”
The platform provides visitors access to a comprehensive database of more than 200 skin conditions via Dermawizard. This allows patients to orient themselves online and choose whether to manage their skin issue independently or schedule a digital or in-person consultation (without the need for a referral). Where physicians make it available, patients may also access immediate support through an online consultation room with a dermatologist.
Efficiency and reliability for patients and doctors
For patients, Dermatology2Go is a trustworthy alternative to the often confusing information found online (only 4% of social media accounts about skin health belong to dermatologists). With the self-diagnosis tool and dermatologist-verified knowledge database, patients are better prepared for their consultation, making care more efficient. Waiting times are short, and second opinions are available quickly.
Dick van Gerwen, dermatologist at Bravis Hospital and co-founder of Dermatology2Go: “Back in 2013 we started with online dermatology consultations because patients from all over the country traveled to us. For many cases, we found that an online consultation was an excellent alternative, saving time and cost. Since this works well in the Netherlands, why not globally? With Dermatology2Go, certified dermatologists can now assist patients worldwide.”
For physicians, the platform offers a user-friendly, secure, and efficient solution that eliminates the need to switch between separate systems for communication, booking, payments, and case records. The virtual waiting and consultation room mirrors the experience of a physical visit. Automatic reminders reduce no-shows, while flexible account settings enable physicians to manage their profile and fees independently.
Security and quality guaranteed
Data security is a cornerstone of the platform. Dermatology2Go runs on European servers and complies with the highest information security standards (NEN 7510 and ISO 27001). Patient privacy and system reliability are fully safeguarded.
Bert van Gerwen, CEO of Webcamconsult and co-founder of Dermatology2Go: “Many healthcare institutions still rely on generic tools like Teams, Zoom, or Meet. This is problematic because these were not designed for healthcare, they rarely meet the required NEN and ISO certifications, and they often route patient data via servers outside the EU, violating GDPR requirements. They also lack seamless integration with EHR systems. Dermatology2Go, powered by Webcamconsult, solves all these issues.”
A proven foundation
Dermatology2Go is not a start-up, but it builds on over a decade of expertise from Webcamconsult, which has delivered digital healthcare solutions since 2013. With this foundation, dermatologists worldwide can rely on a robust, safe, and efficient environment for delivering high-quality care.
